We promote a waste minimisation approach with those we engage with and are actively delivering our education programme and workshops to build the real and practical knowledge of how to live lightly in our homes and communities.

A range of workshops for the community

Our workshop list is always growing, with new ideas and collaborations emerging constantly. We offer a range of workshops for the community focused on:

The ‘How to’s’ from how to connect with your own community, to writing submissions on important sustainability issues
Practical solutions for reducing waste and keeping resources in circulation
Practical skill development, repair, mending, sewing, DIY
Embedding the United Nations Sustainability Goals
Waste minimisation and sustainability
Creative uses for reusable resources

Current education programme

An engaging and inspiring education programme

We have partnered with Auckland Council’s Community Waste team to run an engaging and inspiring education programme which aims to educate diverse communities and foster community participation through workshops to contribute to Auckland Zero Waste 2040.

Its focus is on raising awareness of the importance of Zero Waste and the impact that consumer choices make on the environment.

Our endeavour is for participants to become champions of change through building their capacity to become new leaders and share their learnings with their whanau and communities.
